After the 5th session, I felt more focused and concentrated at work. I did 35 sessions and can say that today I sleep well, am more productive, and much less anxious.

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a natural emotion — it's part of the human experience. The problem arises when worry becomes constant, difficult to control, and starts to interfere with daily life.

In adults, anxiety can manifest in many different ways: excessive worry about the future, intense fear in social situations, panic attacks, or simply a background tension that never completely disappears.

Many people learn to "live with" anxiety for years, but always live below their true potential, at a high emotional and physical cost. Clinical support can help lift this burden and make daily life lighter and more functional.

Main types of Anxiety Disorder

The manifestation of Anxiety may be slightly different when we talk about children and adolescents:

Types of Anxiety Disorder in Children
em Crianças

  • Separation anxiety: intense fear of moving away from parents; it can arise as school refusal.
  • Selective Mutism:speaks normally at home, but blocks in other contexts (school, consultations).
  • Specific phobias:exaggerated fear of objects or situations (animals, dark, thunderstorms, injections).
  • Social anxiety:extreme shame and fear of public speaking or being judged.
  • Generalized anxiety: constant concerns (health, school, parental safety), with tension and “anticipation of the worst”.

em Adolescentes

  • Social anxiety: intense fear of judgment in interactions (presentations, sports, parties).
  • Generalized anxiety: constant worries (future, grades, body, relationships), with tension, irritability and insomnia.
  • Panic disorder:sudden attacks of anxiety and fear that they will happen again.
  • Agoraphobia: avoid places with many people (transport, shopping centers) for fear of not being able to leave.
  • Specific phobias:exaggerated fear of situations such as heights, flight, driving, blood, injections.
  • Health-related anxiety: excessive concern with diseases or use of medicines.

  • Your mind anticipates the worst before the situation even happens
  • There are thoughts that always return, no matter how hard you try to push them away

  • Difficulty concentrating because your mind is always elsewhere
  • You become irritable or on edge for reasons others consider insignificant
  • Constant feeling that something bad is about to happen

Diagnosing Anxiety in Adults

The diagnosis of Anxiety in adults should be performed by a specialized professional (psychologist, psychiatrist) and is based on a comprehensive clinical evaluation, which may include interviews, questionnaires, and psychological tests.

At NeuroImprove, we also use Quantitative Electroencephalography (qEEG), a complementary examination that allows for a more precise diagnosis and, consequently, more effective treatment.

In qEEG, Anxiety is often associated with:

🧠 An increase in Beta and High Beta wave activity

Therefore, a brain map similar to this is often observed:

Representação gráfica de dois mapas cerebrais (Beta e High Beta), onde Beta surge em tons de laranja e amarelo e High Beta em tons de vermelho, laranja, amarelo e verde.

My daughter had a lot of anxiety that was even affecting her at school level but thanks to this treatment she improved immensely. This would be very noticeable in school and it does not seem the same. I recommend.
